Interviewing your potential Nanny:
You will be provided with applications of the potential candidates that we fell may be a good fit for your family. After you have looked through them you should have a phone interview with the nannies you would like to know more about.
Although the Nannies' Nook always checks references, we do encourage families to talk with references directly, as we believe it will give you a sense of the nannies personality, work ethic, and general background.
Interviewing Suggestions:
Before you interview your potential nanny, carefully review her application and make note of any additional information you want or would like clarification on. It is always a good idea to write down your questions prior to your call.
The Initial Telephone Conversation:
Start with simple questions to put the applicant at ease. Ask the nanny a few questions about her previous jobs, the types of activities she like to do with children, her family, school and her experiences with children
Describe yourself, your family and your routines. Give her a preliminary overview of the job, hours, accommodations, salary, cooking expectations, etc.
If you like the applicant and would like to get to know her better, you may want to call her for a personal interview interview to see how she interacts with your family. Keeping in mind that we send these applicants out to more than one family you may not want to wait to long.
Our Guarantee:
If the nanny terminates within the first month, there will be no charge to replace the nanny or a 75% refund.
If the family has honored their contractual agreement with the nanny, and she decides to leave or the family wishes her to leave during the first year of the contract, we will work with the family to find one replacement nanny. We will not assume responsibility for any time lapse incurred by the family during this interim period in which we are seeking to replace the nanny.
If the replacement nanny stays beyond your initial year's contract, at that time there is a prorated fee for the balance of your replacement nanny's year, due the day your replacement nanny begins.
Placement fee must be received prior to the nanny's first-day of work. We do not consider a placement to have been made until our fee is received and we will continue to make the nanny available for other potential families. The nanny is contractually obligated with the Nannies' Nook not to begin her employment until our fee is received . If for any reason the nanny has begun employment and the placement fee has not been received, we will be required to contact the nanny and instruct him/her to vacate employment immediately following commencement of current workday.
